[AD – Gifted] I was given a complimentary cheese delivery box but was under no obligation to post about it. I just really bloody loved it!
Did someone say “cheese?” Yessss!!
I don’t think I love cheese; I think I have a full love affair with the stuff and I love nothing better than enjoying a big cheese board full of my favourites, from cheddar, to brie, to a melted camembert and anything that’s local too including Northamptonshire Blue and Cobblers Nibble from Hamm Tun Fine Foods.
Christmas time for me is literally the best as it’s cheese board season.
So when Absolutely Vintage asked me if I wanted to try one of their cheese delivery boxes, I was all over this like a piece of cheddar on a cream cracker.
Absolutely Vintage are a Northamptonshire based friendly family service for all the special occasions in your life. Afternoon tea with the ladies, Birthdays, Baby showers, and much more.
They pride themselves on making your experience of hiring their beautiful Vintage China, Glassware, Sweet Cart, “Pimp your Prosecco” Cart, Cheese Cart stress-free.
Cheese delivery boxes are a new addition to their already successful business offering and I was very excited when I had my box delivered looking all pretty and wrapped with a flower decoration.
The boxes come in different sizes depending on how much you want, ranging from £25 – £45. Our box was the highest price range at £45 and I would say it’s definitely worth the money considering how much you get.
What’s inside?
Cheesy goodness, that’s what!
Inside our box, we received 5 different cheeses, from cheddar, creamy brie, mango and even a big bulk of Cambozola! I loved the sizes of each cheese, as it wasn’t too much to be too overwhelming, but it wasn’t too little to leave us wanting more.
We also received a selection of crackers, from seeded and oat crackers, a nice big pack of Tyrrells crisps, a lovely big bowl of strawberries and grapes, to a selection of chutneys and a big pork pie.
The chutney’s were supplied by The Pickled Village and we also received a big tub of pate too. Katie covered everything you could possibly want in a cheeseboard selection and thought outside the box too by not just providing standard stuff.
The fruit was a lovely addition too, as the sweetness of them really cut through the strong flavours of the cheese.
We decided to set up a little picnic area in our back garden with whatever we had at home and we ended up having such a lovely night!
The verdict
Josh and I both really loved what Absolutely Vintage had to offer with their cheese boxes.
There was enough for Josh and I to tuck into, plenty of chutneys to cover the cheeses with, a variety of crackers which meant it was always an interesting experience as to what flavour combinations we could make.
I had no complaints on the actual contents of the box as everything was super delicious and complemented each other perfectly. I’d recommend it!
I would certainly order a cheese box from Absolutely Vintage again, especially how kind she was to offer my dad a complimentary box for Father’s Day following the news of Benji which really was the sweetest thing where Katie went above and beyond.
How to enjoy it
As it was just the two of us who received the box, we thought we would make the most of the sunny weather in the evening and decided to have a little date night in the garden with blankets, pillows and put everything on a big chopping board.
We all know date nights are limited at the moment due to lockdown and nowhere being open, so if you are looking for something different and a bit fun to fo at home, a cheese delivery box would be a lovely thing to share together.
But if you’re looking for a unique gift idea for someone who is a big cheese lover, I’d thoroughly recommend ordering from Absolutely Vintage!
