Okay… we’re 11 days into September
But September is here *insert cliche omg I can’t believe it’s September, it feels like it was just January* caption.
But seriously, 2018 has gone incredibly quick and I am really happy to say hello to September and goodbye to August.
I have always associated September as a fresh start, just like the feeling you get when a new year starts.
I think it’s because despite being 24 years old and having not been in education for 2 years, I still associate September as a ‘new school year’.
And with me starting a new job a few weeks ago and having the summer to freelance and not having a full-time job to go to, I guess you can say it feels like I’ve had a summer off and I’ve started a ‘new school year’.
After not knowing what I was really doing these last couple of months and finally feeling like I’m settling in somewhere, I’ve made some ‘September resolutions’ which I’m keen to achieve before we say goodbye to 2018 and hello to 2019 *oh my god*.
Also, FYI these photos you’re seeing were taken by the lovely Tiff at Creatiff Media back in March 2018 at Delapre Abbey, but I realised I hadn’t used them in a blog post yet, so I’m using them now (is that a sign that I need new photos!?)
Pass my probation at work
I kept this pretty under wraps for a while, but last month I started a new job as a Sales & Marketing Assistant and it’s honestly been the best move for me.
Being freelance was fun for a while, but then I realised I missed being part of a team and I felt I still needed somewhere to grow and learn to develop my skills, especially in Marketing.
It’s so far been the perfect job because I am learning so much, plus it’s so close to home so I can go home for lunch sometimes. Win-win!
I am currently in my probation period, which is 6 months, so I guess really, I hope to pass that and I am praying that I will do well during this period.
I realise this might mean fully concentrating on my job and spending the evenings resting, as so far this job has taken it out of me mentally, as there is so much to learn and take on.
But despite the up’s and down’s my career has seen this year, I am really happy so far and I am happy to say that I am settling in well with my team and *hopefully* contributing lots to the company.
Organise more blogger events
Organising blogger events can be so tricky, time-consuming and can take up lots of organisation skills. It’s even more difficult when you don’t have much time on your hands.
But I really want to make sure I am organising at least 4 events per year for the Northamptonshire Bloggers Network.
We’ve unfortunately had some bad luck recently with an event being cancelled by an organiser, so I’m hoping to turn this around very soon!
Lead a healthier lifestyle
I was recently diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) after it took 5 doctors appointments to confirm it.
It’s been taking over my life for the past year and I am now doing all I can to manage it and take care of my body.
I’ve been doing lots of research on good foods and bad foods, fighting foods and what vitamins and supplements I should be taking to help, as those with PCOS are more prone to diabetes and heart disease.
Therefore, it’s really given me a wake-up call to get rid of bad habits.
So far, I haven’t drunk alcohol, I’ve been taking Vitamin C and Cod Oil tablets, drank lemon and apple cider vinegar with water in the mornings and eaten lots (and lots) of fruit and veggies. It must be doing me some good, right?
Clear and revamp my wardrobe
Last month, I hit a fashion rut and I hated everything that was in my wardrobe.
I still hate the majority of my clothes in my wardrobe.
It’s no secret that I’ve gained weight, so I guess I’m currently trying to find a new style to match with the body I currently have.
And I’ve certainly jumped on the mid-sized style trend, because for once, YES! I feel included in fashion and loving all the mid-sized love!
I’m starting to get some new pieces to suit my existing wardrobe and turns out, some of the pieces I have owned for years now seem to have a place in my wardrobe with the new items, thanks to a bit of mixing and matching.
Watch this space – as I want to get more photos of myself to show on my blog!
Start my qualification in Marketing
This is a BIG one!
I am hoping very soon to be enrolled on the CIM Marketing Qualification, which would be a huge thing for me, as this will give me a much wider marketing education and I hope it will enhance me in my career.
It’s early stages and I’m not 100% sure if I’m starting this month, in January or even in September next year, but I am hoping I’ll be able to get in sooner rather than later.
So I may literally be ‘back to school’ very soon!
What are your September resolutions? What are you aiming to achieve before the end of 2018?
