If you’re looking for ways to shop online and still support local, this is the guide for you!
Christmas is here and like many of us, once it hits November, we are already thinking about our plans for the festive season. It’s going to be a lot different this year compared to normal and with many businesses shut due to the pandemic and the England lockdown – now is more important than ever to shop local.
It’s very easy to find anything you want on websites like Amazon, as the delivery is usually quick and easy. However, there are businesses out there who solely rely on online orders now a whole month’s worth of customers coming into their shops is no longer an option.
Sure, the delivery might take a bit longer, but the rewards and wonderful customer service received from a small business are so worth it!
Plus with all the uncertainty of lockdown and Tier 2 restrictions, I can see why some people might still feel anxious to head to the shops.
That’s why I thought I would put together this guide of how you can shop online from some of your favourite Northamptonshire businesses during lockdown 2.0 and in prep for Christmas.
I have a bunch of Christmas guides coming soon, but I thought I would get as much info out as possible so you’re fully prepared!
Here is your guide to shopping online in Northamptonshire (click on each section below to skip straight there!)

They take 2-3 days to send orders out and delivery is free on orders over £75 and minimum order is £10.
On top of that, Mooch may be offering virtual personal shopping events via Zoom so you can get an idea of what’s on offer before you buy!

If you’re a big Harry Potter fan, you are going to LOVE this spell-binding magical gift idea!
I really feel for the guys at Magic Bean Emporium as they’ve not managed to catch a break during lockdown, after they’ve been preparing to open their magical new coffee shop at the Northampton Train Station, they have found themselves closed again.
As the only official Harry Potter licensed gift retailer in Northampton, they have some Christmas Harry Potter gift sets available ranging in size.
All gift boxes/bags comprise of licensed Harry Potter merchandise and confectionery and the sets contain a surprise selection of mugs, sweets and stationery. All gifts can be delivered.
They will be available on their website very soon, but for now, you can still shop for some over HP merchandise including chocolate wands, travel mugs and more!

The Model Shop
One for the big kids at heart – The Model Shop is your place for all things toys, model railways, kits, scalextrics and everything else!

They have a website of which they currently have an online shop where you can place items in your basket and get them delivered. They are also doing a click and collect too if you’re able to head to Wellingborough Road in Northampton.

Bosworth Garden Centre is an independent garden centre based in Burton Latimer and they will be open during the lockdown, however, you can also buy online via their online shop and they can accommodate for local & national delivery, as well as click and collect.

Bell Plantation
Bell Plantation based in Towcester will remain open during the lockdown. This includes their garden centre, food hall and poultry centre which you can still shop from whilst following the government guidelines i.e. wearing masks.
However, you can also shop online via their website for local delivery and for click and collect for anyone who can’t visit them.
They just managed to host their Christmas preview evening before the lockdown started, which gave a wonderful example of how you can decorate and dress your home for Christmas, so it’s well worth supporting an independent family-run garden centre when thinking about Christmas.
